About Frost-Robinson Summer Band Camp Staff
Over the 20 years of providing a summer band camp we have compiled a staff of highly qualified music teachers. Most are certified public school instrumental music teachers. Others are professional performers in the Washingto-Metro area. ALL are dedicated to bringing music alive in the classroom through active performance participation by the students. Our staff has developed a style of teaching excellence while maintaining a fun and inviting environment.
I've been a band director in FCPS for 29 years, the past 21 at Frost Middle School. I have degrees in Composition and Music Education. I also teach music history at NOVA and play percussion in the Fairfax Wind Symphony. At Frost the bands have continually received superior ratings at festivals and contest in VA and have performed at state and national conferences. My philosophy for summer band camp is for kids to experience the joy of music without the pressures of competition.

I am currently in my 8th year as middle school band director at Robinson Secondary School and my 24th year as a band director in Virginia. I'm active as a guest conductor and clinician and I play Alto Sax in the Fairfax Wind SYmphony. The Robinson bands maintain superior standards year to year at local and state contests. I look forward every summer to working with the students at our camp and know that the music making will be outstanding.
